La Esmeralda Special

Panama

La Esmeralda Special Geisha

Intense, fresh and floral aromas of jasmine, citrus and bergamot. Honey sweet, lively acidity and mild creamy mouthfeel.

La Esmeralda Special is probably the wildest, most aromatic coffee in the world. The Peterson’s grow this Geisha variety, which has an amazingly intense floral aroma. The coffee cherries are depulped and mechanically demucilated. The best lots of the Esmeralda are called Special and are sold on auction, but we’ve been allowed to buy a small lot before the auction and we’ve paid 50.00$ /lb FOB which is 37 times higher than the market price.

This lot was handpicked on 3rd February 2018. We’ve roasted the coffee very light in small batches, bringing out the freshness and vivid aromas as much as possible. Recommended to be brewed with very clean water.

We only roast Esmeralda when we have enough orders to roast a whole batch, but usually we’re sending the same week.

Please note the 120 grams bag (not our standard 250 grams).
