To acknowledge the outstanding quality in the cup, we have chosen to pay 12.54 UDS/KG based on the quality of El Vergel. We call it a 'return to origin' so you know the direct impact your coffee choice has on the farmer. Thank you for being a part of this rewarding journey.
We have laid out all the numbers for you in our Transparency Report.
About El Vergel
CAFECO (Café Orgánico de la Sierra) is a cooperative of smallholder coffee producers founded in 2015 in the Chiapas region of Mexico. The cooperative is farmer-led and currently has around 256 active members, including 63 women. Their mission is to produce high-quality organic coffee while maintaining strong democratic and environmental values.
This lot comes from farmers who live around the village of El Vergel.
Each member cultivates coffee on their own small plot of land, typically between 1 and 3 hectares, using traditional methods and growing under native shade. The cooperative provides technical support and centralised processing assistance to improve quality and traceability.
