About Triunfo Verde
Triunfo Verde is a cooperative of over 440 smallholder coffee farmers located in the buffer zone of the El Triunfo Biosphere Reserve in Chiapas, Mexico. This protected cloud forest is home to exceptional biodiversity, and agricultural activity is only permitted where it supports environmental conservation.
The farmers grow certified organic coffee under native shade trees at altitudes between 1,250 and 1,700 masl. Triunfo Verde has been chemical-free since 2004 and is fully certified organic and Fairtrade.
The cooperative places strong emphasis on environmental education, agronomic training, and financial and social support for its members. It also actively promotes gender equality and social justice among producers.
