The farmer

Located in Cajamarca, in the northern part of Peru, Rosa Mego is a passionate producer who's connection with coffee started at a young age as her parents worked on coffee farms in the province of Cutervo.

Together with her husband Secundo Olivera they acquired their own farm, El Eucalipto, in the district of San Jose de Lourdes. The farm has served as a driving force for her family; Rosa, Secundo and their 4 children. Rosa Mego is also a part of Monte Grande and delivers coffee to Caravella.

Rosa takes immense pride in her work and development of the farm. Since starting the farm in 2018 it's become more organized and efficient, and Rosa is considering expanding the drying area's capacity and investing in a new depulper.

Quality Bonus

We work by the values of transparent trade. This helps create a healthy relationship with the farmer and financial sustainability for them.

We pay a quality bonus to Rosa Mego that is 184% above market price ($5.5/lb FOB). The quality bonus allows the farmer to continue to produce higher quality coffee.
