The farmer
The Casallas family consist of the mother Olimpa Torrés, the father Don Jaime and their son Jaime Andres. Together, they have the farm, El Prado. The farm is located in a valley and the coffee fields stretch from their house at the bottom and all the way up the mountainsides.
Direct Trade
We work by the values of transparent trade. This helps create a healthy relationship with the farmer and financial sustainability for them.
We pay a quality bonus to Jaime Casallas that is 494% above market price ($10/lb FOB). The quality bonus allows the farmer to continue to produce higher quality coffee.
