Luis Edgar Camacho

The farmer

Luis Edgar Camacho lives on his farm, La Palma, in Palestina, just south of Pitalito in the Huila region. He comes from a coffee farming family and inherited the farm from his father who worked as a cherri picker to save up money to buy the farm.

Luis Edgar, his wife, Ledy, and two children all play key roles in the daily operations of the farm and they usually only have to hire in one or two cherry pickers during the harvest season. Through the consistent and passionate work, Luis Edgar has been able to enhance the quality of his coffee, and in 2022 he submitted his coffee to Cup of Excellence for the first time.
