The farmer
Silvia Herrera is a second generation coffee farmer and daughter of a founding member of the local coffee-growers' coop: Unión de Ejidos y Comunidades San Fernando.
From a young age, Silvia saw the positive impact that community work brings to coffee growing. Ever since, she has been promoting collective actions on a local and regional scale.
Quality Bonus
We work by the values of transparent trade. This helps create a healthy relationship with the farmer and financial sustainability for them.
We pay a quality bonus to Silvia Herrera that is 134% above market price ($5.8/lb FOB). The quality bonus allows the farmer to continue to produce higher quality coffee.
