The plunger is an essential part of the AeroPress as the part of the brewer that pushes the water through the filter. The silicone can become overworked over time as you have brewed a myriad of cups of coffee on your AeroPress.
To preserve the quality of your filter coffee, you can easily replace the plunger when it is no longer airtight.
