The land was originally cultivated in 2002 when the virgin forest was cut down by the previous owner. In 2003 coffee trees were planted, but it was impossible to maintain because of the remote location and lack of access by road.
A Coffee Farm is Born
Ernesto and María Machaca bought and took over the farm in 2005, but didn’t start to cultivate the forest until 2020 - because it was inaccessible until 2020.
A neighbour opened a small road and Ernesto decided to renovate the fields and planted Pacamara and Gesha
